2017 Acura RDX Elite
The day I wrapped up and signed the deal, more than two months after deciding on this vehicle.
Other vehicles test driven (and many others looked at): Porsche Macan, BMW 328d Touring, BMW X3 and Infinity QX50. Price was not a deciding factor.
I just didn't want the status factor of the Porsche and BMW as a daily driver. Plus I was looking for long term reliability with a minimum of expense.
Fuel economy is drastically better than the 1999 Honda CR-V that I had owned since new. It had a 2 liter four-cylinder engine and 5-speed manual that never got better than 9.0 l/100km on a good day. The RDX with the 3.5 liter V6 and 6-speed automatic under the same conditions (highway at a true 100 kph) gets 7.9l/100km and it is a larger and heavier vehicle.
Not that I care, but 0 to 60 in 6.2 seconds (Car & Driver) for a 3950 pound vehicle is respectable.
