Control Arm Bushings
Control arm bushings are not available from Porsche separately; the whole control arm must be replaced at quite the expense. There are numerous aftermarket control arm bushings available. For owners who want OEM style control arm bushings, those from Elephant Racing are as identical as can be. Both the bushings that came with the car from Porsche and the Elephant Racing bushings are rubber with no moving parts...they are silent (do not squeak), maintenance-free and proven in everyday vehicles.
Poly-urethane or Urethane bushings are slightly cheaper, and being so, I have to wonder why Porsche didn't choose to use them. They pivot about a bolt and need to be greased.
A local 993 owner that I know quite well installed a set of red poly-urethane bushings. His comments: "despite the high mileage, there was nothing wrong with the OEM Porsche control arm bushings that I removed. What a waste of time that was. And when it gets cold out, my bushings squeak".

An original Porsche 993 control arm bushing.
Supposedly, it is not available separately from Porsche; instead, it is fitted to new control arms only.
